The game between them and Pikes Peak Christian wasn't particularly close, with Belleview Christian falling 40-24. Belleview Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pikes Peak Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Belleview Christian saw an underclassman step up: Harjas Thiara scored 16 points along with five steals. Thiara hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Ortega, who scored no points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Belleview Christian's lineup was just a bit different on Thursday as Emily Taylor got a bit more time on the court (15 vs. her season average of 7.56). Taylor made the most of the opportunity, scoring two points along with seven rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Leading Pikes Peak Christian to victory were Bella Fletcher and Rebecca Thomas. Fletcher scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Thomas scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Thomas is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Millie Harmon, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Belleview Christian's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
