Basketball Recap: Mathys Joseph Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

There's no place like home for College Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past the Livermore Cowboys with a 61-57 win on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Cowboys are ranked 187th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mathys Joseph, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. That's the most boards Joseph has posted since back in December of 2023. Miles Cooper was another key player, putting up 16 points.

College Park now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Livermore, they moved to 11-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

College Park will face off against Clayton Valley Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Clayton Valley Charter likes a good challenge. As for Livermore, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Lorenzo at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Livermore's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
