If the Veritas Prep Falcons were riding high off their 55-35 takedown of the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Veritas Prep took a hard 65-48 fall against Phoenix Country Day on Tuesday. Veritas Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Phoenix Country Day apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Veritas Prep still got an impressive performance from Jared Barrett, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Lentz, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Veritas Prep's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Phoenix Country Day, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Red Rock the next time they take the court. Veritas Prep will head out to face Red Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Phoenix Country Day will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
