The East Canton Hornets lost against the Indian Valley Braves back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. East Canton took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian Valley. While losing is never fun, East Canton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while Indian Valley is ranked 259th).
Audrey Wade and Chelsea Barnett certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Wade scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Barnett scored six points along with eight rebounds. Wade is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
East Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Indian Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Canton will take on Strasburg-Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Strasburg-Franklin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Indian Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Claymont at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Claymont comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
