The Eastmark Firebirds entered their tilt with the Arizona College Prep Knights with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Eastmark walked away with a 47-39 victory over Arizona College Prep on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastmark also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Anna LaFountain, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Farnstrom, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Arizona College Prep still got an impressive performance from Mikell Van arsdale, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Van arsdale continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Aulds, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Eastmark has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Arizona College Prep, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Eastmark and American Leadership Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Arizona College Prep, they will be playing at home against Combs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Combs is ranked 201st, while Arizona College Prep is ranked 185th).
