Softball Recap: Penn Manor Beats Manheim Township for Their Fourth Straight Win

Penn Manor got themselves on the board against Manheim Township on Monday, but Manheim Township never followed suit. They blew past the Blue Streaks 10-0. Considering the Comets have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Amelia Trout was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Haley Kreider was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

The win (which was Penn Manor's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Manheim Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Penn Manor will square off against rival Warwick at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 3.7, the Warriors 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Manheim Township is set to face off against their familiar foe Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
