Academic Magnet is 0-10 against the Battling Bishops since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Academic Magnet Raptors will be playing at home against the Bishop England Battling Bishops at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Academic Magnet came up short against the Gators and fell 50-41.
Abby Brauchle put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Holly Manning was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of 20 wins, Bishop England's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Oceanside Collegiate Academy by a score of 36-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop England has scored all season.
Academic Magnet has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Bishop England, their loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-2.
Academic Magnet was dealt a bruising 52-21 defeat at the hands of the Battling Bishops in their previous meeting back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Academic Magnet was down 36-13.
