Basketball Recap: Tabernacle Christian Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Tabernacle Christian had lost four straight headed into Thursday's match, but Jayden Walton didn't let it get to five. The Tabernacle Christian Rams walked away with a 69-57 victory over the Victory Christian Academy Patriots on Thursday thanks in part to Walton, who posted 42 points. Those 42 points gave him a new career-high.

Victory Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Coby Glaze and Javan Erwin. Glaze had 22 points, while Erwin earned 22 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Wyatt, who put up six points.

Tabernacle Christian's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Tabernacle Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shining Light Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tabernacle Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rockwell Christian School at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
