The Plainfield Quakers waltzed into their match Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 66-44 margin over Perry Meridian. Considering Plainfield has won three contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Plainfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Schmidt, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The match was Schmidt's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Ellis, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Plainfield pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Perry Meridian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Plainfield will take on Mt. Vernon in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at. As for Perry Meridian, they will head out on the road to face off against Center Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Center Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Perry Meridian in Indiana (Center Grove is ranked 175th, while Perry Meridian is ranked 441st).
