Baseball Recap: Ash Fork/Seligman Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ash Fork/Seligman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Red Mesa Redskins on Monday as Ash Fork/Seligman made off with a 16-0 victory. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Branson Milius made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Milius was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Ash Fork/Seligman let John Cauthen and Ricky Faires run wild. Cauthen scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Faires scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Faires has posted since back in March of 2024. Jesus Ayala was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ash Fork/Seligman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Ash Fork/Seligman back to even at 2-2.

Ash Fork/Seligman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-5 victory against St. Michael on the 24th. As for Red Mesa, they are taking a road trip to take on Greyhills Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greyhills Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something Red Mesa will no doubt try to take advantage of.
