After a string of six wins, the Windsor Wizards's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mead by a score of 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Windsor has suffered since November 30, 2023.
Windsor's loss came despite strong showings from Reyleigh Hess and Gracie Worlsey. Hess scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Worlsey scored 14 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Worlsey has scored all season.
Mead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Wurth out in front who scored 12 points. Elena Gomez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Windsor's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Mead, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor will play host again and welcome Holy Family, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Family is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Mead, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Greeley Central at 5:30 p.m. Allowing an average of 51.3 points per game, Greeley Central has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
