The Brackett Tigers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Sabinal Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Brackett is ranked 1310th, while Sabinal is ranked 1292nd).
Last Tuesday, Brackett was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-33 to Stacey.
Meanwhile, Sabinal scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 89-30 victory over La Pryor at home. With Sabinal ahead 64-21 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Sabinal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Contreras, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Contreras continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tre Morgan was another key contributor, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 4 assists.
Brackett's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Sabinal, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
