Basketball Recap: Arrowhead Takes a Loss

After flying high against Waukesha North last Friday, Arrowhead came back down to earth. The Arrowhead Warhawks fell to the Catholic Memorial Crusaders 70-66. The Warhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the loss, Arrowhead still got an impressive performance from Natalie Kussow, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. The match was Kussow's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karina Klemz, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 17 points.

Even though they lost, Arrowhead smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Arrowhead's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Catholic Memorial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arrowhead will host Mukwonago at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.1 points per game this season. As for Catholic Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oconomowoc at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Catholic Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
