Central York added to the longest winning streak in York-Adams 1 this week by beating Red Lion, 35-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Panthers.
Spring Grove lost to Dallastown 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
William Penn's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Way threw for 154 and 2 touchdowns and Bryshon Sweeney had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Way contributed 127 yards. Dakeem Dennison helped William Penn's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 44 yards.
Way put up the best numbers in passing as the Bearcats lost to South Western. Way's favorite target this week was Sweeney, who caught 5 passes for 64 yards.
William Penn's Way and Dennison have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Way has thrown for 1,516 yards this season, while Dennison has 37 catches for 707 yards. Breaun Randle from Central York leads the league in rushing with 1,219 yards.
Shawn Heinold's team's Way needs only 16 yards against Brad Livingston's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Way has rushed for 984 yards on 116 carries so far this year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Bearcats' Dennison goes up against the Panthers' Marquette Williams.
Next week's game between William Penn and Central York will feature an aerial matchup as Way tests his arm against Williams' defensive ability.
At the moment, the Bearcats are in fourth, while the Panthers are in second.
The league will see a high scoring game when William Penn and Central York face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bearcats comes in having scored 238 this season, while the Panthers have scored 266. William Penn scored 33 points last week as it fell to the Mustangs.
South Western made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,596 from 5,961. The improvement was the result of a 42-33 victory over the Bearcats last week.
