The Brush Beetdiggers will head out on the road to take on the Loveland Classical Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brush is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Brush came up short against the Huskies and fell 53-40. While losing is never fun, Brush can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Huskies are ranked 86th).
Brush's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michelle Headley, who scored eight points along with 18 rebounds and two steals, and Jocelynn Middlemist who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Headley has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played.
Meanwhile, Loveland Classical was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Wednesday as they fell 42-36 to the Timberwolves.
Brush has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Loveland Classical, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
