Baseball Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. Western Reserve Roughriders

For the second straight game, Crestview will face off against Western Reserve. The Cougars will host the Roughriders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Crestview headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Western Reserve let them put that streak behind them. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Roughriders on Monday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Tyson Ringler was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Crestview got a massive performance out of Gavin Barker, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were Barker's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Parrigan, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Crestview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Western Reserve now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Crestview, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
