First Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hope Christian Academy a 15-0 shutout. For First Christian, this counts as revenge for the 13-1 win Hope Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Brayden Pedersen and Hayden Grant made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Pedersen struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Grant tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Pedersen scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Grant scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Earnhart, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Colin Preston was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hope Christian Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
