The Americas Trail Blazers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 49-38 victory over Franklin. This was payback for Americas, who suffered a 39-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Americas was led to victory by JOSH PICHARDO and AIDEN MARQUEZ. PICHARDO scored 12 points, while MARQUEZ scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of VINNIE VICENCIO, who scored six points.
Americas pushed their record up to 22-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Americas will head out on the road to challenge Eastlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 456th, while Americas is ranked 100th). As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Socorro at 6:00 p.m.
