Sky View is 9-1 against the Bears since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sky View Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bear River Bears at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Sky View can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past Mountain Crest 51-49.
Sky View found their leader in underclassman Macade Rolle, who scored 20 points along with five assists. Zachary Oxborrow was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Bear River faced the Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bear River had just enough and edged the Wolves out 40-38. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Bear River has scored all year.
Sky View's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Bear River, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Sky View came up short against the Bears in their previous matchup on January 12th, falling 68-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bear River's Bridger Barfuss, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Now that Sky View knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
