The Freeport Yellowjackets lost against the Armstrong River Hawks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Freeport might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Armstrong an easy 66-44 victory. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Freeport has scored all season.
Armstrong's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Valasek, who scored 17 points. Ian Olsen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Freeport and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Armstrong, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeport will take on Plum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Plum is ranked 432nd, while Freeport is ranked 425th). Armstrong's road trip will continue as they head out to face Indiana at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st.
