Llano is 3-0 against Florence since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Llano Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court against the Florence Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Llano has 11 straight wins, Florence has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Blanco scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Llano still came out on top. Llano pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Blanco. Given Llano's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Blanco is ranked 959th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Weston Baker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. He hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Fitz Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Florence was the victim of a tough 45-25 defeat at the hands of Brady on Tuesday. Florence has not had much luck with Brady recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Llano has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. As for Florence, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21.
Everything came up roses for Llano against Florence when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 65-19 victory. With Llano ahead 37-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
