The Kent Denver Sun Devils can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They really took it to Eagle Ridge Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-24 win on the road. With Kent Denver ahead 36-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Kent Denver's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylah Miller, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Austin Duncan, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Eagle Ridge Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Madi DiLorenzo and Jaz Greenwood. DiLorenzo dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and ten blocks, while Greenwood scored nine points along with five assists and two steals. Greenwood is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Kent Denver pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.33 points. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kent Denver will square off against Peak to Peak at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Peak to Peak is ranked 46th, while Kent Denver is ranked 52nd). As for Eagle Ridge Academy, Eagle Ridge Academy and The Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allowing an average of 50.2 points per game, The Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
