Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timberlake Christian). They strolled past the Temple Christian Crusaders with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-39. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tornadoes as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Timberlake Christian found their leader in sophomore Rowan Yerrington, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 25 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Elsie Smyth, who posted five points and six steals.

Despite the defeat, Temple Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emily DeStafano dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. DeStafano has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Conner, who scored 18 points.

Timberlake Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Temple Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Timberlake Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-44 defeat against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Temple Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-42 loss against Faith Christian on the 3rd.
