The Altamont Indians won the last time they faced the Cumberland Pirates, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Altamont put the hurt on Cumberland with a sharp 54-32 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Altamont.
Altamont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaidyn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Miller, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Cumberland saw an underclassman step up: Cameron Roedl scored 13 points. Roedl continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Altamont's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cumberland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Altamont will be playing in front of their home fans against Vandalia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vandalia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Altamont likes a good challenge. As for Cumberland, they will head out on the road to face off against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
