The Gillespie Miners are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Civic Memorial Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, Gillespie ended up a good deal behind Edinburg and lost 68-52.
Meanwhile, Civic Memorial came up short against Jersey on Friday and fell 42-35.
Civic Memorial's loss came about despite a quality game from Adam Ogden, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Ogden scored a full 42.9% of Civic Memorial's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Lamb, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Carrollton's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Gillespie's defeat dropped theirs to 2-3.
Gillespie lost to Civic Memorial on the road by a decisive 70-51 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Gillespie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
