On Saturday, the Pascagoula Panthers faced the Jackson Academy Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pascagoula walked away with a 70-59 win over Jackson Academy. Winning may never get old, but Pascagoula sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Williams scored a full 40.7% of Jackson Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lyles, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Pascagoula will finish 2023 at home by hosting Velma Jackson at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Velma Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Jackson Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Louisville at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. Louisville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Jackson Academy is ranked ninth).
