University proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests in a row.
Joel Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
