The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Williamsburg Blue Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Claysburg-Kimmel's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Forbes Road with a sharp 19-0 victory. The Bulldogs have beaten Forbes Road the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Forbes Road has come to flipping the script.

Mason Campagna
03/24/25 @ Forbes Road | 6 |
04/22/24 @ Southern Huntingdon County | 3 |
05/03/24 vs Fannett Metal | 2 |
05/02/24 vs Juniata Valley | 2 |
04/25/24 vs West Branch | 2 |
The team relied heavily on Mason Campagna, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Ayden Soler was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Claysburg-Kimmel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forbes Road only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg made easy work of Southern Huntingdon County on Saturday and carried off an 11-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Pirates.
Konner Harker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Harker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Logan Brantner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Preston Long, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Claysburg-Kimmel now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Williamsburg, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Claysburg-Kimmel has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Williamsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Claysburg-Kimmel couldn't quite finish off Williamsburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Claysburg-Kimmel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
