Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mcdonald County

McDonald County entered their tilt with Liberty on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 71-62 win over the Liberty Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonald County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dakota O'Brien, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 13 rebounds. McDonald County is 3-1 when O'Brien posts 30 or more points, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carlie Martin, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards.

McDonald County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

The victory got McDonald County back to even at 11-11. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDonald County will take on Monett at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles challenge the Blue Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
