Baseball Recap: Norco Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Norco barely beat Santiago the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Sharks get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Landon Hovermale, who gave up just two hits to keep Santiago off the board. Hovermale has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Norco let Dylan Seward and Kevin Leon run wild. Seward went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Leon went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was Leon's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Serna, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Norco is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Santiago, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Norco will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sharks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
