It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lamar County Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on Bacon County with a sharp 38-13 win. The win was nothing new for Lamar County as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Lamar County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyquavius Hughley, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Although Bacon County took the loss, they still got scores from Adian Cothern and Rasheed Slade.
Lamar County has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points per game. As for Bacon County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Lamar County will square off against Swainsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Swainsboro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Bacon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
