The Wayne Blue Devils will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Plattsmouth Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wayne is ranked 183rd, while Plattsmouth is ranked 189th).
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Wayne had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against West Point-Beemer.
Despite their defeat, Wayne saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Frantzdie Barner, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Haley Kramer, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Plattsmouth scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Conestoga with a sharp 62-36 victory. That 62-36 margin sets a new team best for Plattsmouth this season.
Wayne's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Plattsmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
