The Genoa-Hugo Pirates''s game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hanover 65-35 on the road. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Genoa-Hugo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Konner Rowden-Stum out in front who picked up 147 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown. Logan Sitzman was in the mix as well, providing Genoa-Hugo with two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Hanover lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Byers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Junior Diaz was another key contributor, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Genoa-Hugo's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hanover, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Genoa-Hugo will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Granada at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Granada is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Hanover, they will square off against Stratton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stratton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hanover in Colorado (Stratton is ranked third, while Hanover is ranked 49th).
