Freeport has gone 9-1 against Guilford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pretzels will challenge the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Freeport knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Guilford likes a good challenge.

If Freeport beats Guilford with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Pretzels put the hurt on Mather with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. The Pretzels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, while Guilford put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Belvidere. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bucs 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

The result came thanks to James Versino's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up 18 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Guilford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Haddad, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Guilford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belvidere struck out 18 times.

Freeport's record now sits at 14-5. As for Guilford, their record is now 7-4.

Freeport took their win against Guilford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pretzels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
