The LaCrosse Leopards stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 93-23 win over Chase on the road. LaCrosse's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading LaCrosse to victory were Caden Morgan and Lee Holopirek. Morgan scored 16 points along with seven assists and four steals, while Holopirek went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Rush, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Chase struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as LaCrosse pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
The win (which was LaCrosse's eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Chase, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaCrosse will take on Central Plains at TBD on Friday. LaCrosse is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Central Plains a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Chase, they and Smoky Valley Home Educators will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Chase focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
