DeKalb County is a perfect 6-0 against Cumberland County since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will host the Jets at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cumberland County will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: DeKalb County extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past White County 7-1.

Kora Kilgore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bryna Pelham was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zayleigh Bain, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
DeKalb County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White County only managed five hits.
Cumberland County never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against York Institute on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Dragons. With that win, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Cumberland County let Raylynn Adams and Lillyonah Rice run wild. Adams scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4, while Rice went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those runs were Adams' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anamarie RIo, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
DeKalb County's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cumberland County, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. DeKalb County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .433. However, it's not like Cumberland County struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went DeKalb County's way against Cumberland County in their previous matchup back in March, as DeKalb County made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
