The Riverdale Ridge Ravens came tearing into Saturday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 79-56 win. Riverdale Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverdale Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Hinh, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Marcus D mcfadden, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Roosevelt lost, one person who can't be blamed is Seppe Salvatore. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Salvatore is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Reckard, who scored 11 points.
Riverdale Ridge's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.8 points. As for Roosevelt, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will take on Severance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Severance knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Riverdale Ridge likes a good challenge. Roosevelt on the road again on Wednesday and play against Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
