The Collierville Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Houston Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Collierville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Collierville had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Clarksville 23-22.
Collierville's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Troutman, who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 102 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Collierville also got help from Joakim Dodson who showed off his sure hands for 106 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Houston entered their tilt with Dickson County with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Houston simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Dickson County 47-0 at home. Considering Houston has won six matches by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Houston can attribute much of their success to Chandler Day, who threw for 146 yards and four touchdowns, and Damon Sisa, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Sisa's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.
Collierville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Houston, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Collierville ended up a good deal behind Houston in their previous meeting two weeks ago, losing 42-28. Can Collierville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
