Delaware County Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the MAST Community Charter Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Delaware County Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 361 points over their last five matchups.
Delaware County Christian pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Sun Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delaware County Christian in their matchups with the Vanguards: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Caleb Jameson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Josiah Gaines, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though MAST Community Charter has not done well against the Drakes recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. MAST Community Charter skirted past the Drakes 50-47. The win was familiar territory for MAST Community Charter who now have four in a row.
Delaware County Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for MAST Community Charter, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Things could have been worse for Delaware County Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-42 loss to the Panthers in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Delaware County Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
