The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Claysburg-Kimmel sitting on 18 straight wins and Berlin Brothersvalley on 12.
While Claysburg-Kimmel's victory against Northern Bedford County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 24th.

Isabella Paris made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Francona, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley made easy work of Windber on Thursday and carried off a 13-1 win. Considering the Mountaineers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Claysburg-Kimmel, Berlin Brothersvalley also got a great game from a two-way player: Sam Walker. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Walker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Coral Prosser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Haylee Speicher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Berlin Brothersvalley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Claysburg-Kimmel pushed their record up to 18-0 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their record now sits at 14-1.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Claysburg-Kimmel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Berlin Brothersvalley struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Claysburg-Kimmel came out on top in a nail-biter against Berlin Brothersvalley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
