Madison Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Northside Christian with a sharp 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lexi Miles made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Miles was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Miles is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Lily Scholz was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lilianna Dennis also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Madison Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Shekinah Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Genoa Christian Academy, falling 17-5.
Mia Pierce made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Abigail De Telder, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Madison Christian pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Shekinah Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything went Madison Christian's way against Shekinah Christian when the teams last played on Thursday, as Madison Christian made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
