Peyton has gone 9-1 against Ellicott recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Thunderhawks at 2:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Peyton saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 13-7 to Sanford. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.
Zayden Ebbert was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Ebbert was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Bryce Love was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Love is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Ellicott was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They came up short against Las Animas, falling 17-2. The loss continues a trend for the Thunderhawks in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
Ellicott saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lazarus Brillar, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Julian Diaz was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Ellicott fell to 2-1. As for Peyton, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Peyton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Ellicott struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Peyton got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Ellicott by a conclusive 20-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
