Meanwhile, Newton put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 72-30 victory over Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine. The win was nothing new for Newton as they're now sitting on six straight.
St. Anthony has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Newton, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
Everything came up roses for St. Anthony against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 59-30 victory. With St. Anthony ahead 35-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
