Lebanon is 9-1 against Richlands since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pioneers will host the Blue Tornado at 6:00 p.m. Lebanon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Lebanon had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Tazewell on Tuesday. The Pioneers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The game marked the Pioneers' most dominant victory of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Richlands, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Marion on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Parker Ryder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Collin Adkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bradley Fuller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Richlands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marion only posted a batting average of .250.
Richlands' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Lebanon took their win against Richlands when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-8 score. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Tornado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
