Madison West extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 6-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Madison East Purgolders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-2 on Tuesday.

As for Madison East, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked their highest-scoring match to date.

For Madison East's part, Oliver Dugas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Hewitt, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Madison West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-5 defeat against Monona Grove on the 25th. As for Madison East, they will square off against Sun Prairie East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
