On Saturday, St. Johnsbury Academy faced Rice Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Johnsbury Academy and Rice Memorial were almost perfectly matched up, but St. Johnsbury Academy suffered an agonizing 29-30 loss. St. Johnsbury Academy were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rice Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat from the last time the teams met up.
The loss dropped St. Johnsbury Academy back to even at 2-2. The win bumped Rice Memorial's record up to 3-1.
St. Johnsbury Academy will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Brattleboro. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. Rice Memorial will stay at home against Essex at 1:00 PM. Rice Memorial will be strutting in after a victory while Essex will be stumbling in from a loss.
