The Goessel Bluebirds will head out on the road to take on the Newton HomeSchool Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Goessel is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, 2024 welcomed Goessel with a 70-49 loss courtesy of Solomon.
Meanwhile, Newton HomeSchool fought the good fight in their overtime match against Liberty HomeSchool Alliance on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Arrows 64-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The losing side was boosted by Jaquale Schumm, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and 30 rebounds. That was a full 71.2% of Newton HomeSchool's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Goessel now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Newton HomeSchool, they have fallen quite a ways from their 12-5 record last season and are now at 2-5.
