After losing to Wallace County the last time they met, Dighton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hornets enjoyed a cozy 49-30 win over the Wildcats on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won five contests in a row.

Dighton's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Wallace County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Dighton and Wallace County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Hornets see the court they'll take on Ness City at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Wallace County, their break will end when they face Wheatland-Grinnell at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
