John Hill and Marcelino Martinez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Phoenix Day School for the Deaf. The connection was good for 60 yards, the longest such play in VI Section III (8 Man) this season.
Salt River's Hill rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Roadrunners last week. Hill scampered for 53 yards on the play and finished with 200 on the day as his team lost to Phoenix Day School for the Deaf.
Salt River's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hill has thrown for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Mahki Marcus has 9 catches for 86 yards. Hill also leads the league in rushing with 481 yards.
The most important game in VI Section III (8 Man) this week will be the match up between Arizona Charter Academy and Bagdad. The Bulldogs comes into the matchup ranked 20th in the state, while the Sultans ranks first.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Salt River takes on Rancho Solano Prep. Brandon Tauscher's team's offense has scored 66 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Mustangs have allowed only 0 on the year.
Salome added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Arizona Charter Academy, 36-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
