Softball Recap: Northern Lebanon Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Northern Lebanon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Upper Dauphin Area on Tuesday. The Vikings never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Hollenbach was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Hollenbach was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Lynsie Mauser was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Hopkins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Northern Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northern Lebanon's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they moved to 8-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Northern Lebanon is taking a road trip to challenge Cocalico at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they will be playing at home against Susquenita at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
